It’s been illegal to hunt mountain lions in California for 40 years. So state Fish and Game Commission President Dan Richards had to travel to Idaho to bag one. The wealthy real estate developer—first appointed to the commission by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008—shared his trophy photo with California Sportsman’s website, Western Outdoor News, and ignited a firestorm of controversy. He was forced out as commission president on August 8.
